Do you ever wonder why the craziest things happen to you? Why you've faced abuse and trauma, whether at an early age or later in life? Do you find yourself questioning why your communication feels off, why people don't seem to understand you, or why things often seem unfair? Have you ever wondered why maintaining a consistent, nurturing relationship feels so elusive? Or perhaps you feel overwhelmed by stress, scared of change, the new, and the unknown?
I, too, have wrestled with these questions. As an African American male, my life has been a journey through many challenges and triumphs, leading me to a deep understanding of navigating difficult emotions and expectations. This personal experience, combined with my professional background, has shaped my approach to helping others find their path through similar struggles.
With 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have dedicated my career to helping people achieve their best selves. I hold a graduate degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and am currently pursuing additional education at Morehouse School of Medicine. My expertise spans behavioral health, mental health counseling, and substance abuse treatment, with specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and strength-based approaches.
My approach is client-centered, always focused on meeting you where you are and helping you move forward. I am also gender-affirming and supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community, with specialized training in trauma-informed care. I understand the unique challenges that can arise from these experiences and identities, and I am committed to providing a safe, inclusive space for healing and growth.
Unlocking the answers to these questions and navigating these challenges may not be easy, but it's a journey worth taking. Together, we can explore your feelings, manage your emotions, and set realistic expectations. Let’s embark on this journey to find clarity and build a more fulfilling life.
